I’m so very honored and humbled for all of the endorsements of my book The Doughnut Diaries.
I’m a firm believer that kindness fosters kindness. The simple fact that I was able to call on my peers, clients, colleagues, friends and strangers to endorse my book, even though in some cases I haven’t spoken to some of these people in a while. They didn’t hesitate to say an emphatic yes to my my request.
This has been such a joyful experience from the beginning and even more so now that the book is about to be launched into the world.
I mention in my book how I’ve had this idea to write my story for over twenty years and my fear of only writing one giant run on sentence stopped me time and time again. That’s when I was introduced to Baby Pie publishing, a one stop shopping Mecca to getting your ideas turned into a book! It’s founded by a husband & wife, Keith and Maura Leon. They and their amazing team took ahold of my hand and my story and haven’t let go. I felt like I could finally tell my story with abandon, full of love and forgiveness instead of shame and disdain.
A great big Thank You to the people who took the time to read my book and giving it such high praise for not only for sharing my story but for me as a person. Which, interestingly enough is a large part of my message in my book. Helping each other succeed is how we have full lives. Sharing our stories with each other is how we learn. Believing that we aren’t alone in whatever we are going through in life is how we find the strength to help ourselves.
If you are asked to do something kind to help someone in your life to aid in their success, take advantage of the opportunity and do it. Do it because it’s for them not for you. Help someone without the thought of what will this do for me. Do your best to help someone without expectation. There is always enough good stuff to go around. Don’t you want to live in a world where help is readily available and the fear that there won’t be anything left for me doesn’t exist? I know I do. This is a lesson I’m so grateful to have learned in my forties. It’s never too late to learn valuable life lessons.
